The project for Day #1 is a scarf that I saw on Saturday. I pinned it to my DIY board and then I couldn’t stop thinking about it. So I got started on it while watching the Nebraska game. I cut it all out in the living room and then I would run back and forth to sew during commercials. :)
Here is the original pin…
And here is my version of the scarf..
(Now let me just stop here and say that taking pictures of myself is the worst part of all this. I have no idea how to pose…where to look…smile or no smile?? Will the awkwardness never end? Oh well… ;)
So, when I saw the original scarf I loved the gray and yellow but I did not have gray or yellow knit so I decided to go with two of my favorite colors right now…red and turquoise. I really like the way it turned out and it was SO easy to make. The tutorial is great and if I hadn’t been running back and forth to sew between commercials it probably would have only taken about 30 minutes.
I love the way it looks in the above picture but it can also be worn like this…
I like this look too but it is still a little too warm in South Texas to wear it this way. I really like the two colors but I also think it would look great with one solid color. I have some brown knit that I am thinking about using to make another one.
I give project number 1 two thumbs up…easy, quick, and cute…my kind of project.
Day #2 involves a canvas and no awkward pictures of me…amen.
Be back tomorrow…
