a day after Thanksgiving walk with Papa :)

These are classic pictures of my dad.  He can spend hours taking the kids on walks, playing at the park, and going on “adventures”.  He is a great dad and a great Papa…my kids are blessed.

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.”

(Melody Beattie)

Tucker at breakfast this morning:

“Mama, for Christmas can we get out our Playmobil God toys”? :)

He means this…

He looks forward to it EVERY year.

Soon Tucker, soon…just let mama get through Thanksgiving.

“I would get it from HEB and come home with it and leave the plastic on it.  I would bake it in the oven on hot, hot, hot for I think when my mom bakes, she does like 20 minutes or 10.  Then I put it on the table and I eat it with vegetables and fruit and after I eat stuff I have dessert but I don’t really want it.”

Sounds yummy…don’t you think?  I think the plastic will give it a unique flavor. :)  Every year Mackenzie’s kindergarten teacher asks each student How to cook a Thanksgiving Turkey? and then she sends their answers home.  Pretty funny stuff!

I’m making my first Turkey this year, but I think I am going to follow a slightly different recipe. ;)

My blog seems to center so much around my kids.  It makes sense…I’m a stay at home mom…life with my kids is what I do…EVERYDAY.:)  They make life fun, challenging, loud, exciting, etc…  However, the BEST part of my day is when Galen walks through the door.  When he walks in the door…then we are complete.  Besides my relationship with the Lord, my marriage is my favorite part of my life.  So today I just want to take a minute and tell Galen…

I love you.

You are my favorite.

Thank you for being my partner in everything.

Thank you for loving and serving our Lord.

You are the best!

**to my handful of blog readers…I challenge you to honor your husbands today…whether on your blog (if you have one), or with a card, or just tell him…I guarantee it will make his day. :)

As Mackenzie explains it..”Tomorrow is my real birthday, but today is my school birthday and I get to take cupcakes.”  She was pretty excited to share them with her classmates and she even got to share them with the principal and assistant principal. :)  Her cousin Isabella is coming from Houston to help us celebrate.  I think she is going to have a pretty good weekend.
