Tucker: “But I want to play with Lukie.”
Me: “Tucker, you and Mackenzie can both play with Luke. You need to learn to share Luke!”
Tucker: “But Mom…you should have just had twins.”
Me: “Sorry Tuck…”

Well, we welcomed Fall for about 3 days last week and then Summer reared it’s ugly head again.:) It is just something that I have yet to get used to living in South Texas…the endless Summer. The only trees that have leaves that are changing right now are the ones that are dying because of all the heat! Upper 80’s and low 90’s all week…ugh. I keep looking longingly at all the long sleeve items in my closet…someday I’ll get to wear them…someday…:)

photo: the welcome table I decorated for our Women’s retreat. I thought if I decorated for Fall, maybe it would come. :)

I will pour out My Spirit on your offspring,
And My blessing on your descendants;
And they will spring up among the grass
like poplars by streams of water.
This one will say, “I am the Lord’s”…
And that one will call on the name of Jacob;
And another will write on his hand,
“Belonging to the Lord…”
Isaiah 44:3-5
Continuing my battle of priorities and busyness…it seems like a constant one. Trying to not forget to soak up moments like these with the ones the Lord has entrusted to me. Struggling with busyness? Go here for a wonderful sermon that will encourage and challenge you.

- He runs around all day with a sword in his back…ready for battle.:)
- He can quote movies like your wouldn’t believe…cracks us up. He will often use movie quotes in real life conversation.
- He is his baby brother’s protector. I think he sometimes questions my ability to really take care of Luke. :)
- He calls me Mama…and I love it.
- He loves his red, curly hair and when his last haircut was a little shorter than we wanted it…he told me he “missed his curls.”
So thankful to be his mom…

“I am God. I have called you to live right and well. I have taken responsibility for you, kept you safe. I have set you among my people to bind them to me, and provided you as a lighthouse to the nations, To make a start at bringing people into the open, into light: opening blind eyes, releasing prisoners from dungeons, emptying the dark prisons.”
Isaiah 42:5 -The Message

Sherilyn.:)
We know how much you worry about us living down here
in enemy territory during football season.
But rest assured…we still bleed Husker Red…
burnt orange will not touch our skin…
our kids know how to yell
“Go Big Red”…
and they will be strongly discouraged from
attending certain “enemy” colleges
no matter how many of their friends decide to attend there
or what amount of scholarship money they might receive.:)
Husker pride…nationwide
and here is the proof…

Go Big Red!

was wonderful. My days started like this…

quiet moments in the Word while enjoying this view…

the blessing of getting to stay in a beautiful house…

that was just minutes away from the ocean…

and the sand…

eating lots of good food…

spending time with my best friend…

and the family the Lord blessed me with when I married my best friend…

All this to celebrate the incredible 40 year marriage of the World’s Best In Laws :)

It was a great four days…really great memories.
We got home last night and within 20 minutes of being home I was making dinner…then Luke decided to wake up this morning at 4:45am…and Tucker peed in his bed…home sweet home…I wouldn’t have it any other way. :)

so happy to have my mac up and working again. Spent the week using an old, VERY SLOW laptop that would not let me upload pictures. Trying to update the blog was just too frustrating!
Galen and I left yesterday to spend 4 days in Hilton Head, SC with his parents and siblings. It is an adults only trip to celebrate his parents 40th wedding anniversary. We are having the best time! My day started with breakfast at Panera, shopping with my MIL and sister in laws, and now we are relaxing in the beautiful house we are staying in. It is so beautiful here…good thing we left our kids in South Texas or else we might never want to go back. ;)
As soon as I track down the cord that I need… I’ll upload some pictures.
Happy Saturday…

Came across these pictures today and realized that I had never shared them. When we went to the beach in July, Jackson and Mackenzie went boogie boarding for the first time. They loved it! They both took to it pretty easily and kept getting braver and braver and going further and further out…making their mom more and more nervous.:)
Watching them reminded me of my childhood summers in Southern California…watching my brothers boogie board and enjoying the beauty of the beach. This is definitely a vacation we want to repeat next summer…
