…from her first week of school.

- She calls everyone in her class her friend…my friend Alexis, my friend AJ…
- She describes everyone based on their hair and what they were wearing.:)
- She decided that she was brave enough for just Jackson to walk her to her table the last two mornings.
- She was really proud of herself for answering a question right during her first Spanish class.:)
- She saw Jackson in the hallway and he smiled and waved at her…made her day!
- She has honestly told me everyday when the class was not obeying the teacher.:)
- She LOVES picking out her outfits.
- She LOVES her teacher Ms. Wilson.
- Most importantly…she LOVES not taking a nap!
A really great first week of Kindergarten…I think she’ll go back next week, ;)
happy weekend,

…because these two asked Jesus into their hearts.

It was a simple conversation about obedience, after reading a Bible story, that led to the right time to ask, “Do you want to ask Jesus into your heart”? Mackenzie prayed first. Jackson and I held her hands and she prayed the prayer that will be a defining moment in her life. Then after we were finished and I told her that the angels were having a party for her…Tucker said he wanted to pray too.:) So after making sure that he understood what he was doing, Mackenzie and I held his hands and he prayed too.
He anointed us, set His seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. II Cor 1:21-22
Thank you Father…you are so faithful.

Monday morning a second grader and a kindergartener woke up in our house.:) They were both so excited to go to school. We were not too worried about Mackenzie being nervous or intimidated…on Sunday she said to me, “Mom, Ms. Wilson is going to be so excited to see me tomorrow.” Apparently we have done a good job instilling confidence into our children. :)
When we got to school, Jackson quickly let us know that he knew where to go and didn’t need any help…so off he went…a BIG second grader. We focused our attention on Mackenzie…took lots of pictures…gave lots of hugs, and then it was time for her to line up and follow her teacher to her new classroom. Once we got to the door she gave me a hug and a kiss and then walked right in and didn’t look back! They both had a great first day and were excited to go back today. I love this stage…so many new experiences…what a privilege to experience it with them.

the table…

the highlight of the evening…”sparkly” grape juice…

Galen giving a toast to the “best looking kids in all of Texas”…

Mackenzie waiting for the best part…

Saying “cheers”…

(no, his front teeth aren’t rotten…just missing:)

Our verse for the year…

Our goals…we had fun reading our goals from last year and then setting new ones…

Jackson, Mackenzie, and Tucker each prayed for their teacher..

A really fun evening together before the busyness of the school year begins. So thankful for my kiddos and for the opportunity to enjoy this stage of life with them…looking forward to pre-k, Kindergarten, and 2nd grade.:)

Enjoy all of these things while on a girls weekend away in beautiful Denver, Colorado. What a great time we had…lots of great memories…and the chance to celebrate my favorite mother in law.;) Happy Birthday to the best mother in law a girl could ever ask for!

…to a weekend with the girls. Be back Monday.:)

it will just be me and him…

With Jackson, Mackenzie and Tucker all in school on those days it will be lots of Mommy and Luke time. I’m sure we will find lots of things to keep us busy…but I think it might take us both a little while to adjust to the quiet. ;)

…thinking, planning, taking a look at priorities, spending more time with the kids and less with the computer. See you in a few days…

…just so thankful for my husband and his even, easy going temperment. Such a stark contrast to mine…:) I love you Galen…
