…and I think I have answered 1 million questions already. It’s Mackenzie…she asks so many questions and then the answer to every question needs to be clarified. I don’t think I have any words left…and that is saying ALOT because I have A LOT of words…
just ask Galen.:)

If I look away for even a moment while changing his diaper…he flips over and sits up.:) Just could not resist snapping a picture…

Yesterday afternoon I went out to the front yard to pick something up that had fallen. As I was bending down I lost my footing and put my hand down on the driveway to catch my balance and I BURNED MY HAND! I am not exagerrating…I BURNED my hand. That is how hot the driveway was.  I had a small red blister thingy appear and it hurt the rest of the day. Seriously?? This heat is unbelievable…just plain unbelievable!

I think I have mentioned before that my wonderful mother in law has an online children’s clothing business called Kidz Kaffe.  Her custom made clothing is amazing and one of the best parts is that she uses her 22 grandkids as models.:)  She recently sent Mackenzie a new dress for her upcoming Black and White line and needed some pictures taken of Mackenzie in the dress.  So, thanks to the advice of the talented photographer Breanna Powers (thanks Bre!:), we found a great little spot downtown to take some pictures.  It was a perfect place…lots of great color to use as backgrounds.  Mackenzie did great and made her extremely NOVICE of a photographer mother look pretty good.:)  I’m hoping to get back down there with all the kids to attempt some pictures with all four of them….we’ll see if I can muster up the energy for that!  Here are a few of the pics…

Don’t know if you can call their voices “gentle” but they sure do love you, and I sure am thankful that you are their father.  Happy Father’s Day Galen…I love you.:)

And to my Dad…thank you loving, encouraging, and believing in me for 33 years.  One of the greatest gifts I have ever been given is having you as my dad…I love you.

And to my Father in Law…thank you for being such an incredible, Godly, example of fatherhood…your son is doing an amazing job following in your footsteps…love you.

And to my Heavenly Father…I love you…Your blessings are too numerous to count.  I am humbled by your grace and mercy.

Here he is looking so cute in his hospital gown before going in for the surgery.  He looked sooo cute that everyone thought he was a girl and kept telling me how “pretty” he was.:)  We arrived at the hospital at 8am.  He was not allowed to have anything to eat or drink after midnight so I fully expected him to be very irritable and VERY hungry, but he did great!  He was smiling at everyone and just being a sweet little boy.  A little after 9:00 they came and got him and about 15 minutes later the nurse came to tell me that the surgery was over and everything was fine.  When I went to go get him from the post-op room he was not happy.  He was FURIOUS!  A nurse was trying to hold him and he was doing his best to kick his way right out of her arms.  I felt so bad.  I’m sure it was so scary for him to wake up to a lot of strange faces.  It took me about 45 minutes to get him settled down.  What finally did the trick was one of the nurses’ pen lights.  He turned it on to try and distract Luke while he was taking his blood pressure.  Luke immediately grabbed for it and stopped crying.:)  The nurse was kind enough to just let me keep the pen light until we were ready to go home…whatever made Luke happy!  He also brought him an orange popsicle which Luke thought was pretty yummy.

By the time we got home Luke was back to his old self.  His brothers and sisters immediately descended on him like vultures and the funny thing was he just smiled and looked really happy.  It was almost like he was saying, “Home sweet Home.”  Thank you for all your prayers.  We are looking forward to the relief these tubes will provide for his little ears.

Very thankful for great doctors and nurses today…

This little guy is going in for surgery tomorrow to have tubes put in his ears.  Mackenzie had the same surgery done and I remember being so nervous.  This time my desire for Luke to finally be pain free and not dealing with ear infection after ear infection trumps my nervousness!

He turned eight months yesterday, and he is definitely on the move!  He also has quite the appetite!  With seven teeth he is eating whatever I put in front of him.  Last night is was avocado, cantaloupe, and small pieces of fajita chicken…he couldn’t get enough!!  I have to document this fact because my other three were born picky!  I am amazed by a child who will eat anything and eats so well.:)

After tomorrow, I am hoping that the next eight months of his life will be ear infection free…we’d appreciate your prayers…

jenn:)

At 5:55 this morning I was giving Luke a bath.  He had leaked through his diaper and was literally soaked!   He had already been up a couple of times in the night.  The latest antibiotic is out of his system so I am sure he has another ear infection.  Tucker and Mackenzie decided that it would be a good idea to get up and join the party…the whining party that is…

Oh Monday…

Deep breaths…

I think we are going to head to the pool.  That cheered everyone up last time…

Deep breaths…

These years fly by so quickly right?  I’ll miss them right?:)

No tiny little bags of M&M’s from the checkout lane.  No way…we buy the 42 ounce bags.:)  The kids can’t imagine eating just popcorn for Friday night movie night.  It has to be popcorn and M&M’s.  Galen’s guilty pleasure is pretzels and M&M’s.   Me?  I just like to sneak in the pantry during the day and grab a few to satisfy my horrible sweet tooth.  It’s a sad day when we realize the bag is empty, and Galen’s been known to go to the store late at night to get more.  See what I mean?  Serious business.:)
