I registered this sweet girl for Kindergarten yesterday…

Galen called me a few minutes after I left the school, and when I told him what I had just done I started tearing up. I miss her already. She is such a big helper to me, and such a good buddy to Tucker. The house just won’t be the same with her gone all day. I have until August 25th to prepare myself…I’m just really thankful for my daughter…she is such a blessing.:)

…for this little boy. I have never met this family. I found Mckmamas blog through another blog…you know how it goes. We share a few things in common…her name is Jennifer, she has 4 kids (3 boys and a girl), her fourth child, Stellen, was born just a couple of weeks after Luke was born. It is a long story that you can read on her blog, but basically Stellen’s heart was very sick when he was in utero…they were told that he would not live…but he did. He was born without a trace of the heart condition that he once had…until last week. This sweet baby has been in the hospital in very serious condition. I just can’t seen to get them off my mind. I keep praying for his healing and for strength for his parents. I can’t imagine the heaviness of their situation. So if you have a minute…visit their blog and take a minute to pray.
Oh…and I’m going to stop complaining about the healthy little boy who is attached to my hip.

…so after my day yesterday, I was lying in bed… awake… at 5am this morning. The first line of Elton John’s song I Guess That’s Why They Call it the Blues kept running through my head…
Don’t wish it away…don’t look at it like it’s forever…
Pretty good reminder. So today is a new day. A new opportunity to trust that He will provide all that I need. This new day is a gift.
So…
thank you Elton…
more importantly…thank you Lord.
Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,
for His compassions never fail.
They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.
I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion;
therefore I will wait for Him”.

…I just need to…I have a five month old that literally will not let me put him down for more than 5 minutes. I leave today to get a break (going to Wal-Mart with only Tucker is a break:). I feel bad the whole time I’m gone because I’ve left Galen with a fussy child. I get home and discover that Luke has slept the ENTIRE TIME I HAVE BEEN GONE!! Unbelievable!! Just feeling really mediocre today. I know I need to adjust my attitude, but all I want to do is scream…”It’s not fair!!”
Life’s not fair…I know…I grew up hearing it and I say it to my kids all the time.:) Just needed to get this off my chest. I know there are many of you that can relate.

…on what to blog about. I saw this on a couple of other blogs and thought it was fun so here it goes…
What I Love (right now):
1. Bumkins bibs. My friend Jennie introduced me to these bibs years ago and they have always been my favorite. Since Luke has started eating solid foods I have been reminded just how much I love them. They are made of a very thin material that you can just rinse, ring out, and they dry really quickly. They cost a little more, but are so worth it! They have some really cute patterns too.:)
2. Lemi Shine. If you are frustrated with how your dishes come out of the dishwasher because of hard water…this product is for you!! A friend from church wrote about this on her blog and I went out that day and bought some. It has made a HUGE difference in how my dishes come out of the dishwasher!! It is awesome!! Thanks for the recommendation Barb!:)
3. The fact that my husband is home everyday at 5:30pm. I never want to take this for granted. With a 5 month old who pretty much wants to be held all day, I am pretty much done by the time dinner rolls around. It means so much to me that Galen is home every day at the same time and willingly takes Luke so that I can have a break. Seeing his car pull up to the house is a beautiful sight!!
4. My church. There are so many exciting things going on at our church right now. God is so good and I am so blessed to be a part of this church family. I really love the time I spend there…and we spend A LOT of time there:).
5. Eye Bright…This miraculous pink pencil brightens tired eyes for that young, wide-awake look…Enough said!:)
6. Billy Joel’s Greatest Hits Volume 1 and 2. This is my favorite thing to listen to while I am sewing. He is such an incredible piano player…love it!
Looking forward to celebrating 11 years of marriage this weekend…

…a couple days late (it has been a crazy week!!). Happy Birthday to my best friend. I love you more than I could ever put into words. Thanks for loving me and the kids, but most of all… thanks for loving Jesus and for following Him. You’re the best!
I love you…

…over at the mom crowd today. The Mom Crowd is a great site for moms! It covers a variety of topics, and one of the founders is a friend of mine from church.:)
happy friday…

…so it has been freezing here (translation for family and friends up north-below 50 degrees:) the last few days, and it has been raining, raining, raining. Although we desperately need the rain I am so ready to see the sunshine again! I miss it and I really miss being able to send the kids outside to play. This past week was Spring Break and unfortunately we had to spend most of it inside.
Just a little bit of what has been going on around here:
-Luke will be 5 months on Monday. It has gone by so fast! He is eating anything I feed him and loves to be in the middle of EVERYTHING! His smile is the best, and he is definitely the most popular member of our family right now!:)
-We are so looking forward to seeing my brother and his family, and my in-laws this week. They will both be in town and we are looking forward to celebrating Galen’s 34th birthday together.
-Mackenzie had been complaining about her finger hurting since Wednesday, but she never showed it to me. I never asked to see it because you know how it goes…with four kids…something is ALWAYS hurting! Well, I finally took a look at it yesterday and discovered that it was her thumb and that it was big and swollen and she has an infection around the nail bed! Mom of the year award…right??:)
-I sat down to sew for the first time in months!! I am making Mackenzie’s Easter dress and have been having so much fun. Have I told you how much I love to sew??
-We have a new favorite family game…it’s called Zingo and it is so much fun! If you do not have it…get it. We have probably played it 30 times this week. The kids love it.:)
Just a few pictures of our trip to Landa Park this week before the rain came. It is a beautiful park about 30 minutes from here that has train rides, and multiple playgrounds.

Off to run some errands today…
jenn:)
but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this…
