We were all out on the trampoline last night waiting for Daddy to get home…the light was beautiful and so were the kids…couldn’t resist.

happy weekend…

…My Grandma, Great Aunt, and Auntie are here visiting from California. What a blessing it has been to spend time with them. Having them here has brought back lots of memories from my childhood in California…
…As a child I loved spending time with my grandma and grandpa. I loved going to their house, and I really loved my grandma’s room. All I have to do is close my eyes and I can clearly see myself walking down the long, avocado green, carpeted hallway that led to my grandma’s room. There was one thing in particular that I loved to look at in her room. It was this…

and the best part was when you opened it, she was always there…

dancing to Edelweiss. I loved this Jewelry box and I loved the time my grandparents spent with me. There were many times when it was just me and them…fulfilling my childhood dream of being an only child (I’m kidding here, but not entirely. I truly remember thinking that being an only child would be a lot more fun than having three brothers. However, for the record, I love my brothers, and I am thankful that I was not an only child. I will be sure to pass this information on to Mackenzie just in case her own three brothers cause her to have the same childhood dream.:) There were grocery trips, picking strawberries from my grandpa’s garden, buying my first pair of hightops:), and getting to order ribs when we went out to eat. I LOVED ribs…and even though they weren’t on the kids menu, they let me order them. Great memories…really great memories.
About a year and a half ago my grandma gave me the jewelry box. It now sits on my dresser and guess who loves to come in to my room to see the ballerina dance?

I will often times find the jewelry box moved from it’s place on my dresser to my bed and I know she’s been in there enjoying it just as much as I did. I’ve had to fight the urge to tell her to leave it where it belongs. Instead I want to tell her about all the great memories I have when I look at this simple little box. I want her and I to create new memories and maybe one day I can pass it on to her and she can share it with her daughter…
Oh… by the way…we went out to dinner the other night and guess what Mackenzie wanted to order…ribs.:)

“Beloved, do we believe that the only way to do something acceptably is to do
it perfectly? Sometimes God is more aware than we of just how much
He requires of us. He knows how hard it is going to be for us.
…I’m not suggesting we shouldn’t do our best. I’m simply saying
that sometimes just surviving certain tasks without falling
apart is our best and in those times God is not ashamed of our
performance. He’s proud of us for fighting
overwhelming human emotions to do His will. God isn’t
interested in our stellar performance but in our hearts.
He loves our willingness and obedience despite our insecurities.”
(from It’s Tough Being a Woman by Beth Moore)
I just really needed to read this today…Thank you Lord.

…that I can send my kids to so that they can learn what REAL HARD WORK looks like. Tucker is currently WAILING because I asked him to clean up the playroom, and Jackson is huffing and puffing because I asked him to sort his dirty laundry into dark and light piles…Seriously!

…but in case you haven’t read this…enjoy:)

…but I have been wanting to share some pictures of our romantic Valentines dinner with the Cooleys and our combined 7 kids…:)

…it was spur of the moment, but so much fun…that’s what is so great about having friends that are just like family.:)

P.S. Yes, those are prunes on Tucker’s plate…the rest of us had take out from Pei Wei…Tucker wanted a cheese sandwich, goldfish, and prunes…YUM!
See these cute cupcakes?

Jackson and I spent Thursday night making these for his Valentines party on Friday (I’m his room mom). There were also store bought cupcakes at the party. Guess which cupcakes were DEVOURED by the kids…the store bought ones! Guess which ones were only eaten by a handful of kids…mine.:)
The moral of the story…Listen to your husband when he says, “Jenn, it would be a lot easier if you just picked some up at the store.”

…from our little heartbreaker.:)

…for our neighbors Susan and Howie. Their house was broken into today in broad daylight. She got home, walked inside and found the back window broken. They had quite a bit taken and she was very upset! It was awesome to see our street come together to support her until the police and her husband got to the house. We will be activating our security system…scary stuff.

…supposed to go out to dinner tonight with some friends from church, but we have two sick kiddos.:( Trying to make the best of it, but I am so dissapointed!
