…to get to spend some time with Galen’s family in Nebraska.  We are heading to Houston tonight to stay with my brother and then we fly out in the morning.  It is a non-stop flight from Houston…which will be so much easier with the kids.  I had some pictures to post, but my laptop with my pictures is giving us problems.:(  Hoping to post while we are away…

…jenn:)

…thank you for your prayers.  When we went to the doctor on Friday, he said that Luke’s ears were getting better and that his lungs sounded 100%!  So thankful…

jenn:)

…that about sums up what has been going on with this little guy…

img_0521We’ve been to the urgent care, the ER, and after today to the pediatricians office 3 times.  I’m pretty sure Luke is thinking that life outside the womb is not all that great!:)  He is definitely on the road to recovery…thank God.  It is scary to see such a little guy so sick.  It broke my heart.  Thank you to all those of you that were praying.

So that is my excuse for not blogging, but here is my attempt to catch up with what has been going on in the Conant houshold…

Luke was dedicated at our church the weekend before he got sick…

img_0528Not a great picture, but it says Luke David Conant “Bringer of Light and Truth”.

img_0564Celebrating that night with Grandma and Papa at BJ’s restaurant…a free Pizookie on your birthday…yummy!

img_0645The next day we had her very specifically requested Butterfly Jewelry Party…

img_0571My first successful attempt at a birthday cake for one of my kids.  Notice it’s not really cake…it’s cupcakes…but I’m counting it!  All other attempts have been disasters!:)

img_0579Being at a Butterfly Jewelry Party was not at the top of the list of “things to do” for this almost 7 year old…he opted to do a puzzle.:)

img_0602Mackenzie’s little friend Josie was the slugger that opened up the pinata.  Isn’t that the cutest pinata? (Cute little girl too!:)

img_0609Tucker’s favorite part…the candy loot!:)

Yesterday we went to a Thanksgiving Feast at Tucker and Mackenzie’s preschool.  Here is our little pilgrim and Indian Princess.  Galen and I couldn’t stop laughing…

We’re heading to the Pediatrician this afternoon for them to check Luke’s ears.  I would appreciate your prayers for complete healing.  We are getting on an airplane next Wednesday to go to Nebraska for Thanksgiving.  That will be a very uncomfortable flight for Luke if his ears are still infected.  I’m trusting God for his healing.

Happy Friday…

jenn:)

that’s what her daddy calls her.:)

…and today she is five years old.  Happy Birthday Mackenzie Ruth!

I am so grateful to have you as my daughter.  Little did I know five years ago that you would be my only opportunity for pink, and bows, and dollies, and “girl’s days.”  I am so glad that God chose me to be your mommy.  One of the things I love the most about you is that you are so much like your daddy…kind, peacemaker, thoughtful…:)

Watching you become a big sister again has been so much fun.  You love Luke so much and you a such a big helper to mommy.

My prayer for you is that you would grow up knowing how precious you are to me and to daddy, but most importantly that you would know how precious you are to your heavenly Father.  There is no greater joy in life than loving and serving Him.

I love you baby girl…

Mommy:)

…so I have a bunch of new pictures to upload and share on the blog, but have not had the time to do it, so in the mean time go here to read Galen’s new blog.  I know I’m his wife and completely biased, but he is such a great writer.  For those of you politically minded folk…this is the blog for you.  It’s “conservative review for the common mind”  meaning even I can read it and understand it.:) So… go read… leave a comment… make his day…

jenn:)

….for a good cup of coffee and a few quiet moments in God’s word.

…Last Tuesday (thanks to early voting in Texas), I had the privilege of casting my vote in the election.  It is a privilege to live in this nation… it is a privilege to be able to vote… it is a privilege to teach my children about the freedom we enjoy in this country, that men and women have given their lives to protect.  I cast my vote for the man that I believe will fight hardest to protect our country…for the man who believes in the the value of a human life and that every human life begins at conception.  I cast my vote with confidence…however, my true confidence lies in this…

…that regardless of the outcome of this election when I wake up tomorrow my God will still be God.  He will still be on His throne, and He will not be “shocked” by the outcome.  He will still be in control and He will still have my name written on the palm of His hand.

I am still confident of this:

I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.

Ps 27:13-14
