…and we think maybe, just maybe he might be getting it!  We’ll see…

…after a sleepover with her buddy Mia where both girls were up at 4:40am…(Sorry Lauren!:)…

…and then a full morning of swimming.  She told me that she was NOT tired and she did NOT need a nap.  This is what happened just a few minutes into Backyardigans…

She finally gave in and fell asleep.  She has been so distraught at nap time lately.  She keeps telling me that she can’t wait until she’s five and she goes to kindergarten because then she WON’T HAVE TO TAKE A NAP!

Sweet girl…wants to be so grown up…but I think I’ll keep her little for a while.:)

…Holly, hope you don’t mind that I’m stealing this from your blog!:)  This blew me away.  God is so amazing…so beyond description.  It’s worth the watch…

Tucker enjoys the pool, but really his favorite thing to do while we are there is what he is doing in the last picture…having a snack!:)

…once again I apologize for the lack of blogging.  The last couple of weeks have been busy ones!  Jackson and Mackenzie took two weeks of swimming lessons.  Jackson did great and is quite the fish now!  Mackenzie wasn’t too sure about the whole experience, but by the end of the second week was putting her head in the water and jumping to her teacher from the side of the pool.  Maybe next summer she’ll actually be ready to swim!:)

Galen and I were able to sneak away for a long weekend to California.  It was my 10 year reunion at Azusa Pacific University.  It was fun to see a few old friends and to have a few days away from the kids.  However, I have to be honest…I’m kinda becoming a homebody in my old age.:)  It was fun to be away for a little while, but I was so happy to get home.  I missed my kids so much.  I’m a mom 24/7 and it just feels weird when I’m not with them!

One of the things that we were looking forward to the most in California was escaping the heat for a few days, but instead of escaping it we brought it with us.  It was over 100 degrees everyday that we were there!  We did take a trip down to the beach one of the days that we were there and it was much cooler by the coast.

The coming weeks are going to be busy ones.  Fourth of July, two vacation bible schools, and a trip to Nebraska to spend time with Galen’s family.  We are all so excited to spend some time in the Cornhusker state.  Jackson gets to be a part of Cousin’s Camp with all of the other cousins 5 and older, and Grandma and Grandpa.  He can’t wait!

Other than the heat, my pregnancy is going really well.  I feel pretty good, just tired from the heat.:)  He’s moving around all the time and my belly just keeps getting bigger and bigger!

I finally was able to buy the camera I have been wanting for a long time!  It’s a Canon Digital Rebel and I love it!  Here is one of the first pictures I’ve taken with it.  It’s Jackson with the castle he built from a Klutz kit.  I highly recommend these kits if you have a child who likes to build things.  Jackson loves them and they keep him busy for a long time!  I have seen them at Michaels, Barnes and Noble and Borders. Have a great rest of the week!

…thankful today for my father, my children’s father, my father in law, and my Heavenly Father.  My favorite memories of each one of them:

-My favorite memory of my father is how he would stand in my doorway after I had gone to bed and pray for me.  As a parent I now realize how powerful… how necessary those prayers are.  Thank you Dad.

-My favorite memory of Galen was seeing the tears in his eyes when each one of our kiddos entered this world.  Looking forward to seeing that again in October.

-My favorite memory of my father in law is him at the piano, leading his family in worship to His heavenly Father.  You are my favorite worship leader!

-My favorite memory of my Heavenly Father is when he knocked on the door of my heart when I was only five and with the help of my earthly father I invited Him in.

Happy Father’s day to each one of you.  I love and admire you deeply.

Love,

Jenn

…that’s how I feel right now.  The Lord has been so gracious in blessing me with a really wonderful, generous group of friends here in Texas, and today that wonderful group blessed me with a beautiful baby shower.  It was perfect.  From the cake, to the games, to the yummy food, to the gifts…I was blown away.  God’s provision is so perfect.  I promise to share pictures…I just realized I left my camera at the shower!  Happy Saturday…

…that happened yesterday at the doctor’s office.  Galen was trying to calm Mackenzie down, get her mind off the fact that this new baby was indeed a boy.  He said to her, “Mackenzie, Daddy wants us to go out to lunch after we are done and I want you to pick where we are going!”  She continues to cry, not sure if that really makes her feel any better and then through her tears and in a very whiny voice says, “Okay, I want to go to….now what would most 4 year olds say…  McDonalds, Wendys, Chick Fil A, etc…not Mackenzie….”I want to go to La Peep!”  Have I trained this girl well or what?  It’s all about the yummy, girly places to eat lunch, and Daddy was not about to say “no” to his one and only princess!:)

jenn

…it looks like Mackenzie gets to grow up just like her Mommy did…with THREE brothers!!  Bless her little heart, she was not too happy!  We got to hear a lot of, “But I wanted a girl!”  I think she’ll come around!:)  The baby looks wonderful…healthy and growing right on schedule, and for that we are so thankful!  Now on to finding a name for this little one…boy names are so hard!

Happy Tuesday!

Jenn

Ultrasound tomorrow at 11am…I’ll let you know if Mackenzie’s dream of a baby sister is about to come true…
