…because have I mentioned how HOT it already is?!!

I am so grateful for a neighborhood pool!  We are signed up for swimming lessons the week after school gets out.  I’m planning to live at the pool this summer.  I think it is the only way I’m going to survive being pregnant in this heat!!:)  At least I’ll be tan…

…so sorry!  Everyday I think of things that I want to blog about, but I just can’t seem to get to my computer and write them down!  No big reason…just the busyness of life.  Just a few things that have been going on…

  • Had a coffee date at Starbucks this morning with my favorite redhead…wanting to soak up some time with my “baby” before he becomes a big brother.
  • Gave my craft room a much needed “re-do” which included a fresh coat of paint on the walls and a good cleaning and organizing…I feel so much better!  Thanks for the help Mom!
  • Looking forward to my ultrasound on June 3rd!
  • Trying to come up with a “plan”  just in case we have to break Mackenzie’s heart by telling her that she is not going to have a baby sister.  Just last night she told me that she can’t wait to wear matching pajamas with her baby sister.
  • Just keep getting bigger and bigger and every pound is depositing itself on my backside…lovely!
  • So proud of my kindergartener (almost 1st grader) who has started reading chapter books.
  • It’s May 20th and it hit 98 degrees today…it is going to be a loooooong summer!
  • Determined to have a “plan” this summer so that we don’t watch too much TV!
  • Now that my craft room is reorganized I want to spend lots of time there…these fingers are itching to sew!
I posted some pictures of what we have been up to over that last month on Shutterfly.  Click here to see them:

Promise to be back soon…

…I felt the baby move last night.  It is one of my favorite parts of pregnancy…you know, those early little flutters…before they turn into “swift kicks to the ribs” that knock the wind out of you!:)

happy Saturday…

…a story I read yesterday about mothers in Haiti making “mud cookies” for their kids to eat because they have nothing else to feed them.  To be honest I didn’t even know how to process that information…anger, sadness, helplessness, a sick feeling in my stomach…and then it hit me and I felt such shame…How often do I complain that I HAVE to make dinner for my family.  I take for granted the fact that every night I have the resources to provide a meal that fills my family.  I cannot imagine the heartbreak and hopelessness that I would feel as a mother to know that my children were hungry and I could not feed them.

I know this is only one example of something that goes on everyday all across our world.  I believe I came across this story for a reason.  Maybe just to wake me up from my selfishness, but hopefully for something more.  This Mother’s day as I am celebrating with my family I also want take some time to lift up in prayer the mother’s across this world who are suffering.  Mother’s who would consider it a dream come true to be able to cook dinner for their families everyday.

Sovereign Lord…When I think about situations like these all I can do is rest in the knowledge that You see, and that You know, and that Your heart breaks to see your children suffering.  The day will come when You will make all things right…Come quickly Lord.

…recent conversation with Tucker:

Me:  Who did you play with at preschool today?

Tucker:  Cameron, John Thomas, and Ally.

Me:  Ally?  Is she your buddy?

Tucker:  No Mommy, she’s my girl.

…so sorry for the long silence.  If you saw my calendar you would understand why.  It has been nothing but activity after activity going on.  Mini Fiestas, Bike rodeos, school projects, church activities…the list goes on and on.  And in the midst of it all we got to enjoy 4 days with Galen’s brother, sister in law and their 5 kiddos.  It was so much fun…our kids love to be together.  In fact, the day after they left Jackson said…”I wish they could have stayed for a month!”  We have had some really beautiful weather and so the kids have enjoyed being outside.  We are soaking it up because once the humidity starts being outside is not so much fun unless you are in a pool!

I just keep getting bigger and bigger.  I think I needed maternity clothes at 10 weeks this time!  I was just thinking yesterday that if I want to survive a Texas summer pregnant I need to buy a maternity bathing suit.  I think I would rather have oral surgery than shop for a bathing suit while pregnant!  Oh well…what do you do?  I’m 15 weeks and finally have some energy back which I am so thankful for!

I have lots of pictures to share from all of the fun things we have been doing.  After this weekend I should have some time to post them.  Have a great day!
