…are my “day off.”  Which means that everyone is in school and I have 5 lovely hours to myself.:)  It was particularly hectic this morning and I was just happy when I finally had everyone, and everything that they needed, packed in the van.  We got to the preschool…I opened the door to get Tucker out and…he had NO SHOES ON!  Talk about Mommy brain!  So…I took him into his class, explained the situation to his teachers, (they got a good laugh) and said I would be right back with a pair of shoes.  Now, unfortunately, the preschool is 20 minutes from our house and so going all the way home was not really that practical.  Instead I headed over to the Payless Shoe Source that is 5 minutes from the preschool and by the grace of God found a pair of tennis shoes on clearance for $6!:)  Isn’t God good…He even steps in in cases of “mommy brain.” :)jenn

…is that I have this conversation at least 2-3 times a week…

  • total stranger: ”He has such beautiful red hair.”

  • me:  ”Thank you.”

  • total stranger:  ”You know…my _________(insert any relation of their choosing brother, niece, great uncle, hairdresser, etc…)  has red hair too.

  • me:  ”That’s great.”  (I know …so lame, but I honestly don’t know what to say!)

  • But my favorite is this one.  Now this has only happened maybe two times, but someone has honestly asked me…”Is his hair color natural?”  It just cracks me up!:)

Love,

…and blessed by a few days spent at Women of Faith.  If you have ever been you know that the conference is filled with all the things women love…laughter, tears, music, friends, and most importantly Gods word.  The highlight of my weekend there was hearing her give her testimony and sing…my goodness can she sing!  If you do not have her CD…get it…you can’t help but smile while listening to it.  The Lord is doing a mighty work through this young girl in an industry that can be very dark…pray for her.  Happy Tuesday…Jenn:)

…to the Women of Faith National Conference that is…be back on Saturday.:)jenn

…I have been thinking a lot about grace lately.  The Lord has been showing me that it is His desire that my first response be grace…grace towards my husband, my children, my friends, my church body, total strangers.  Grace has been on my heart and in the forefront of my mind for days and today I came across this…

The more I reflect on Jesus’ parables concerning grace, the more tempted

I am to apply the word atrocious to describe the mathematics of the gospel.

I believe that Jesus gave us these stories to call us to step completely outside

our tit-for-tat world of ungrace and enter into God’s realm of infinite grace.

If I care to listen, I hear a loud whisper from the gospel that I did not get what

I deserved.  I deserved punishment and got forgiveness.  I deserved wrath and

got love.  I deserved debtors prison and got instead a clean credit history.  I

deserved stern lectures and crawl-on-your-knees repentance.  Instead, I got a

banquet spread for me.
