…your guesses as to what my “life changing event” might be have made me smile.  However, it is not as life changing as a new baby or a job and no I did not go blonde…BUT…it does have to do with my hair… This is the before…p1310432.jpg and this is the after…p1310431.jpgp1310430.jpg 10 inches gone…off to Locks of Love.  I have to admit I had grown quite attached to my hair, but I am happy with the result and am so glad to help such a wonderful cause. As I was getting ready this morning I began thinking about my cousin Christine.  At the age of 19 she was diagnosed with Leukemia and lost her battle when she was only 21.  She was so beautiful, and talented and was always so kind to me even though I was 7 years younger than her.  I’ll never forget the day she took me and another cousin shopping and we tried on formal dresses and got to ride in her really cool car. :)  I also remember, after losing her hair, seeing her for the first time with her wig and thinking how beautiful she was…I’m dedicating this to you Christine…I love you and look forward to seeing you one day in heaven…Jenn:)

…will occur in my life tomorrow, Thursday, January 31st…be back tomorrow with the details.  Jenn:)

I wanted to show you some pictures because my sewing room was actually clean!  I’m usually a pretty organized person but for some reason this room is always a mess!  Messy or not…this is my favorite room in my house.  I love when I actually have some time to spend in there and I love that my kids have a place to be creative in there with me.  I also love that my awesome husband let me take over the space that was supposed to be his office…I love you honey!:)

While we are on the topic of sewing I wanted to let you know about a place where you can find some amazing handmade children’s clothing.  My mother in law, who truly is the reason why I sew…she bought me my first machine and has endured countless questions from me about sewing, has her own website!  www.kidzkaffe.com  Beautiful, custom made kids clothes and accessories…take a look!:)

Have a great week!

  • Woke up to lots of rain this morning.
  •  Jackson has a day off from school today.
  • It is 8:15 am and they are already asking for a snack.
  •  The playroom is already a mess.
  • Tucker seems to have forgotten how to talk without whining.
  •  My sink is full of dirty dishes.
  • Time to take a deep breath and make the best of the day.  Like it or not, as the mommy, I set the mood.

I read this a couple days ago in one of my favorite devotional books that is written from the Lord’s perspective… ”You make my heart glad when you quietly take My hand and together we handle your humanity.”  Here’s my hand Lord…jenn:)

…It’s good to know we have a sword yielding red head keeping us safe. He’s pretty proud of his “moves” (that’s what he calls them:). This kid just cracks me up!

jenn:)

…is sometimes hard, dissapointing, a little heartbreaking. It’s hard to watch your child make a bad choice and then have to suffer the consequences. Unfortunately I know this won’t be the last time…I know a bad choice will be made again and another consequence will be suffered…I’m just praying that inspite of my own imperfections and because of the Lord’s grace and mercy…the words of correction spoken yesterday were taken to heart.

Being a mom has taught me so much about how the Lord feels about me…He loves me enough to discipline me…His heart breaks when I make a bad choice…He compassionately forgives and gives me a fresh start. I pray that I can always follow the example of my heavenly Father…

“…He gently leads those that have young.” Isaiah 40:11

Lindsey, Katie, and Emily…3 dear friends (Linds is my sister in law too:) who came and spent the last 4 days with me. What a tremendous blessing it was to have them here. I knew that I missed them, I just didn’t know how much! Such precious friends that are also dear sisters in Christ. We laughed, we shopped, we ate, we drank coffee (lots of coffee:), and the days just went too fast!

I have to be honest…after they left today I shed some tears. However, they were not all tears of sadness they were also tears of joy and gratitude that the Lord brought these 3 precious women into my life. They have been such an incredible source of encouragement to me and I love them each so much. This weekend was truly a gift…Thank you Lord.
Jenn:)

Hope the year has started off well for everyone!  After a wonderful week with Galen’s family in Nebraska we made the painful 14 hour trip home on New Years eve.  It was long…very long…but we made it.  We have spent the last few days trying to get back to normal.  I am so grateful that Jackson had this whole week off of school.  It has been so nice to just take our time getting back into the swing of things.

I really wish that I had pictures to share, but I am having trouble resizing my pictures (I’m so frustrated!!).  If I posted them the way they are, all you would see is a big eye or nose!  But trust me…there were some great pictures…the kids sledding, Santa coming to visit and delivering 19 pairs of matching Christmas pajamas for all the grandkids, the madness of 19 kids opening up their presents, etc…  We had so much fun!

“Real life” begins again next week.  I’m a “rountine kinda girl” so I’m ready for it, but it has been a great two weeks of vacation.  I’m looking forward to 2008…God is so good and I know He will continue to be.  Be back soon…hopefully with some pictures.:)

Love,

Jenn
