…Off to enjoy the beauty of the Rocky Mountains…be back next Tuesday…
Love,
Jenn
“My mommy is upstairs cleaning and organizing. What will she do when she’s done? I would hate for her to have to just sit down and relax. She would be so bored.
I know…
I’ll take out every single board game we own and dump out all the pieces! I’m such a helpful little boy…I love my mommy so much!!”
I’m choosing to “drink joy” right? “Thank you Tuckie…I had been wanting to verify that all of the games had ALL of their pieces.”

little girl dancing,
twirling round about,
big brother heading off to school,
his young life’s new route.
tiny little pirate with
hair that just keeps getting redder,
mommy closes her eyes and thinks,
“Father, help me to always choose that which is better.”
“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:41-42

“When I consider the heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and stars which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?”
Psalm 8:3-4
Our creator is creative…I love that. His fingers moved and worked to create the beauty we see around us. Color, texture, shapes…all because of His creativity. The reds, oranges, and browns of Fall; the whiteness of Winter snow; the brilliant green of a new Spring leaf; the brilliant blue of the ocean in Summer…all from His palette. He is the most creative Being and He delights in creativity.
I was able to spend several lovely hours last night and today being creative. It is so therapeutic for me and whenever I am working on a project I always think, “How can I do this more often”? My mother in law (a wonderful seamstress) bought some beautiful fabric for me to make a skirt for Mackenzie. That was 3 months ago and believe it or not I just now got around to making the skirt! Regardless, it was so much fun and I am happy with the result. The best part was Mackenzie’s reaction when I showed it to her and had her try it on. She just lit up and started twirling around. She loves being creative too. I finally made her her very own craft table in my craft room so she could be in there with me and we could be creative together. If I finish the matching shirt she’ll be wearing it to church tomorrow…
Thank you Father for the gift of creativity that comes from your hand. Thank you for the “work of Your fingers” and for the gift of some time to use mine…

My quest begins…to choose abundant life in the here and now…To not wait until heaven to enjoy eternal life. To find joy in the midst of chaos and to not miss out on the lessons learned from the 3 little ones that are so good at creating chaos. :)
“The more we give thanks for the stream of everyday miracles, the more our wilderness becomes a promised land. A place to drink joy.” I came across this quote a few days ago on another blog and I thought to myself, “That’s it. I need to open my eyes to the everyday miracles. I need to drink joy.” I have allowed (once again) the busyness of life to blind me to so much of what the Lord has blessed me with…a loving husband, 3 healthy kids, new friends, old friends, forgiveness from a Savior who desires a
relationship with ME!
This blog is a result of desiring a place to go to record the everyday miracles, and to give glory to the Miracle giver who wants to “bestow on us a crown of beauty instead of ashes.” I’m ready for the quest…
Everyday Miracle #1:
Three kids enjoying themselves and EACH OTHER while playing playdough…

“…to bestow on them a a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.” Isaiah 61:3
Thank you Father…
Jenn
